Internships

General Function:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director to assist with the overall planning, training, supervision, and organization of the camp, Specifically in the operation of overall camp programs areas.

Qualification:
Must be minimum of 20 years of age and enrolled in an approved Internship Program. Must have working knowledge of group work/outdoor education and related course work. It is recommended to have a valid CPR and First Aid certification.

Job Segments:

  1. To fulfill work schedule as designated in Internship contract.
  2. Assist in the planning and implementation of the off season/summer program.
  3. To implement one new program/facility development project approved by the executive director.
  4. Assist in developing and maintaining communication between campers, staff, and parents.
  5. To continually pursue new innovative ideas while conducting camp.
  6. To implement and maintain work rules and regulations as stated by YMCA Buffalo Niagara, NYS Health department, and ACA.
  7. To assist in implementing safety checks to assure a healthy and safe camp.
  8. To assist in administrative functions of attendance, camp, development, program and evaluation.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director/Program Director.

The expectations of participants, leaders and YMCA Buffalo Niagara are met by providing a healthy, safe and fun outdoor education program.
